Hello IAH 2011 Registered Hashers!

R-U ready yet? On-on as there are still more than 500 days remaining until the Inter-Americas Hash in Savannah.

While you’ve been hashing, drinking beer and registering for IAH 2011, the organizing committee has been hard at work and would like to update everyone on how things are cumming along!

Registrations: As of early June, there are more than 960 paid and registered hashers. The price is currently $209 USD and goes up $5 per month until we reach our cap at 1,500 hashers or the cut-off date (probably in August 2011). Registrations are transferable but not refundable. To update your registration information, transfer your registration, or make a payment, use this link:
{HASH NAME}: {HASHER LINK}

This is the same as the link in your confirmation emails. Each one of you has a unique link that is just for you and your personal registration. Be careful about who you share your rego link with. NOTE: If you registered for multiple folks with the same email, this email should be forwarded to the applicable hasher so they can update the info :D

Hotels: You will get a room. Similar to a World InterHash, IAH 2011 is working with several hotels to meet your needs (Savannah does not have a single hotel with the capacity (or personality) to host the whole Inter-Americas Hash). Inter-Americas 2011 has three hotels 100% dedicated to hashers and one hotel 98% dedicated (all but one floor) — plus several overflow hotels. Each hotel is owned or managed by a different company and they all are working toward agreeing on how to accept reservations more than one year in the future (something new for them). There are plenty of rooms!
Hotels and reservation information will be sent to you via the e-mail address you provided with your registration as well as posted online.

Venue, Grayson Stadium: The contract is signed, the deposit is in the mail and this Inter-Americas venue is cool! This is the place for all your post trail entertainment, lunch, dinner and lots of drinking. Not only are there plenty of real bathrooms, ample places for beer, lots of seating, enough coverage (in case of rain) and full use of the field for typical hash shenanigans such as tippy cup or beer pong.

A warning: You are hearing it here first: if you pee on the field you will be kicked out of IAH (at a minimum)! Your dog pees on the grass and leaves a brown spot, and it is much more expensive to fix a professional baseball field than fixing your backyard — and the low price of IAH 2011 does not cover that! There are plenty of real bathrooms that are easy to get to at the venue!

Beverages: There will be plenty!

Trail: Tie those shoes; your hares have plans for some shoe-sucking trails in the Low Country. If that doesn’t spark your interest, check out historic Savannah on a city hash trail or relax on a Tybee Beach trail. Whatever you fancy, the hares have trails for you! Kennels on the list to lay trail are: Savannah, Charlotte, Happy Heretics, Pinelake, Black Sheep, DC Men, Orlando, Carolina Trash, Wheelhopper (mountain bike), Slow Old Bastards, Colorado, Whitehouse, Hog Mountain/Bear Creek, GA/FL, Ball-Buster (the guys from Colorado are back!), Orlando and Jacksonville.

More Information: The official site for Inter-America’s 2011 is http://www.savannah2011.com. We know there are plenty of other sites such as HashSpace, Facebook, Twitter, Google or Yahoo — but to make sure you get the most up-to-date and correct Inter-Americas 2011 information, official information will only be posted on http://www.savannah2011.com. Closer to or at the event we may expand to text or other instant messaging channels; check back about it on the site and in an announcement e-mail.

If your kennel is talking about coordinating a pre-lube — or thinking of bidding on IAH 2013 (bless your heart), send us an e-mail and we’ll post your details on the Inter-Americas 2011 Web site or provide an appropriate link.

Whew, that was a lot of information; time for a beer!
